![]() ![]() It isn't worth that price, unless you have money to blow, then why not enhance your experience if you plan to sink many hours into Civ 6. I bought the game on sale, so I would not recommend buying it at full price (again, if you're in console it's sold at like $50!). You could play with Rise and Fall alone (assuming that you are on console), but you might miss some features that are only on Gathering Storms such as World Congress (votes are interesting sometimes), grievances (replacing warmonger system), and new units that make advancing eras more fun. CIVILIZATION VI RISE AND FALL Experience new game mechanics including Great Ages and Governors, upgrades to the Diplomacy and Government systems, and an additional 8 civilizations, 9 leaders. The loyalty is annoying sometimes when you want land near another player, but the other added features are amazing. The Civilization VI Anthology Upgrade Bundle includes six DLC packs, the expansions Rise and Fall and Gathering Storm, and the full New Frontier Pass. Storms are much of a nuisance, but like barbarians the game feels dull without a drought or flooding every now and then. At first I didn't like the added mountains and new way of resources being consumed, but now I find playing as the new leaders, and features are fun. expansions worth it, since gameplay is vastly augmented with a heeeap of content and a change in dynamic.ĭepends. the natural disasters are dope, with a whole new dynamic built into them - rivers flood and volcanoes explode, but they leave behind bonuses that depending on the intensity of the flood/volcano can be majorly benefiical. you can vote on certain players racking up grievances or earning less grievances against them, and a bunch of other things like international aid missions, etc. world congress adds a cool twist where you are expected to partake in internatoinal diplomacy in a kind of open forum? where you vote on classes of items, such as melee units, either having attack bonuses or attack points docked. these are earnt for SPECIFIC civs if they do something to cross you, like settle land near you after you asked them not to, or declare a surprise war on you. instead of just a warmonger score, you have specific grievances which are kind of like justifications for aggressive behaviour vs other civs. and the government plaza is a cool addition too. you can also have alliances based on earning specific boons like military alliance, cultural, scientific, religious. there's a loyalty system which is somewhat related, but they main thing is it does limit where you can settle new ciites, so you can't just build a colony far from the rest of your cities if there's already a significant presence from another civ in the vicinity, since it will damage your loyalty to the point they'll turn. i think it adds a cool chemistry to how you have to plan what you do within an era to earn bonuses or avoid detriments to your civ. The main thing that i rate about rise & fall is the era score mechanics, where the world progresses jointly through eras, during which you have to achieve a certain number of things in order to enter a normal, golden, or dark age. it makes the game a lot more dynamic and less mundane, each play through feels a lot more different because of (cue long paragraphs): ![]()
